Acknowledgement The presented research is part of my M. Tech. Project work that has been carried out at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing. The guidance and support of colleagues in the making of the thesis deserve a special mention. It is a pleasure to convey my gratitude to them all in my humble acknowledgement. The first of all I am extremely indebted to my supervisor, Dr. Sameer Saran, Scientist 'SE', GID, IIRS. This work would not have been possible without his valuable guidance and support.
